POSITION OVERVIEW
The position is responsible for designing, implementing, and meeting annual strategic fundraising goals, leading strategic communications in Development, supporting priority partnerships, and overseeing Development. As part of these responsibilities the position will support the Board Development Committee and with the Executive Director, ensure ongoing planning and evaluation practices are in place to create a culture of philanthropy that prioritizes fund development throughout the organization and Board.
The position reports to and works with the Executive Director as a thought partner and is a part of the senior management team and works closely with the Board and Board development committee and Finance staff and contractors. This position may supervise full-time or contracted administrative resources and volunteers.

Assist with MIRC’s state legislative advocacy agenda; Conducting research and analyzing MIRC’s priorities state/federal legislation bills and related policy issues; supporting preparing advocacy and public education materials for social media; Providing policy campaigns/research support.
Assisting MiF event organization; Supporting the creation of foundational structures for grassroots organizations while working with the Member Relations Lead & Development Manager and Executive Director.
Setting meeting schedules and agendas, and drafting reports and minute taking. Support with MiF event operations.
Working with staff to promote programs and related projects; community engagement support by attending member-organized events; Key roles in logistics/day of event and helping with planning the MIRC signature event Maine Immigration Forum(MiF) in mid-July in coordination with the Manager of Program and Community Engagement and Executive Director.
Designing basic visuals to support MiF event and advocacy promotional efforts; developing and executing a quarterly newsletter; key lead roles supporting Salesforce Projects, MIRC social media platforms, and supporting the Communication Lead & Executive Director.
Supporting the Resettlement Manager and executive Director. Please note that roles, tasks, and or responsibilities may change or be adjusted to meet the needs of our emergency response work.
- Help MIRC and ethnic-based organizations working with systems supporting and housing immigrants experiencing homelessness ensure that they have culturally appropriate food and shelter.
- Support the MIRC ethnic Programs. Help with distributing ethnic meals (if needed/able) and or staffing/supervising volunteers at emergency community shelters.
- Connect with ethnic communities and member organizations (if needed)
- Support with MIRC Advocacy/Programs/ Resettlement projects for immigrants in Maine.
