My name is Hig Sevigny and I am a summer intern for the Maine Immigrants’ Rights Coalition. Due to my life experiences of being a refugee and in the foster care system I have realized that I want to pursue a career in social work and human advocacy. I hope to help those who are in need and give a voice to those who struggle to be heard. Through this internship I will be contributing to MIRC’s mission of improving and enhancing the lives of immigrant and vulnerable communities in Maine. I am excited and proud to be a part of an organization that is working to make Maine a place that supports and uplifts immigrants and the wider state community.
