Madeleine Saucier
Madeleine Saucier joined the Maine Immigrants’ Rights Coalition in September 2021 as the Manager of Programs and Community Engagement. With a practical and positive mindset as well as professional and volunteer experience in the private and NGO sectors, Madeleine is MIRC’s lead on the state COVID and vaccine social service referral response team. In her role, she also works directly with MIRC members, community-based organizations, private businesses, and state and municipal bodies to meet the emerging needs of New Mainers.
In prior professional positions, Madeleine served as a Legal Analyst at the Portland immigration law firm FordMurray, a Development Specialist at Catholic Charities of Maine and a Reporting Officer with the Beirut-based refugee relief organization Basmeh & Zeytooneh. Her current and past volunteer work includes providing mentorship, French-language interpretation, and career coaching to new Americans. Madeleine holds a Master of Science degree in Migration, Mobility and Development from SOAS, University of London and a Bachelor of Arts in Asian and Middle Eastern Cultures from Barnard College of Columbia University. She speaks French fluently and has studied Spanish and Arabic for many years.
Raised in France and Belgium, Madeleine has strong family ties to Maine. She lives in Portland and spends her free time exploring Maine’s beaches and trails with her two rescue dogs, Romy and Jet.
